I think this trend in our house started during COVID, in an effort to entertain the kids at home we had them select a picture from the internet (google search), we would print it off, they would stick it on a wall and pretend to have a pet for the next few days. Sometimes this would turn into an arts and crafts activity using something like learn to draw from youtube.
So when my daughters came into my spare room/office the other day asking for a baby snow tiger, I thought can I use Dall-E instead of google to find them a picture, “could I do something better than google”, was my thought. Firstly I will add that the phrase “snow tiger” is not really an actual true classification, closest I believe would be a white tiger. However I went along and here are some of the results.
For this I used the prompt “baby snow tiger in the snow high res photo real” in Dall-E. Not bad really for an AI generated image, I was pretty impressed, however the kids were not so much.
“I want a cute one” one of them said. So I changed the prompt to “cute baby snow tiger in the snow high res photo real” See below
As I hope you can see from the generated images, while two could pass as cute, two of them came out a little deformed much to the mockery of my children.
So I thought I would try and push this to the max “baby snow tiger in the snow high res fantasy rainbow”, here are the results.
These did not go down at all, much to my own disappointment, they looked pretty fake and the kids asked me to go to google and find them some real pictures. Google and the artists/photographers won this exercise!
